The Power of Narrative in the Liberation of Palestine

Film screening of "Frontiers of Dreams and Fears" and panel discussion on how reclaiming Palestinian agency in stories can shift policy.

Join us for a fundraiser film screening of "Frontiers of Dreams and Fears", a documentary by Mai Masri about two Palestinian girls growing up in refugee camps in Lebanon and Palestine. Despite the barriers that separate them, the girls form a bond and eventually meet at the border. Shot during the liberation of southern Lebanon and the Palestinian Intifada, the film articulates the feelings, hopes, and growing activism of a generation of young Palestinians living in exile at the time.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion on how reclaiming Palestinian agency in storytelling can shift public policy.

Panel Speakers:

  • Inès Abdel Razek, co-director of the Palestine Institute for Public Diplomacy (PIPD)

  • Nour Chamoun, artist & curator

This event will be held at the Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies at NYU.

Doors open at 5:30pm

Film starts at 6pm
