From writer-director Bassam Tariq, Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother stars Mahershala Ali as a religious hitman who struggles to balance work, faith, and fatherhood. When his wife dies, he embarks on a journey across Houston to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him and the beliefs threatening to unravel within.
Directed by BAFTA Award® nominee Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli), Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother stars two-time Academy Award® winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Green Book), John Cho (Star Trek, Columbus), Adia (The Midnight Club, Full Circle) and Emmy Award® winner Giancarlo Esposito (‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘The Mandalorian’). Written by Tariq, the film is produced by BAFTA Award® winners Babak Anvari and Lucan Toh (Under the Shadow, The Front Room), along with Tariq. Brian O’Neill is an executive producer.
Abubakr Ali (A House of Dynamite), Laith Nakli (Ramy), Emmy Award® winner Tramell Tillman (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Severance) and Tiffany Boone (The Midnight Sky, Mufasa: The Lion King) round out the cast.
Joining Tariq behind the camera are cinematographer Katelin Arizmendi (Swallow, Succession), production designer Akin McKenzie (Native Son,The Woman King),costume designer Deirdra Elizabeth Govan (Sorry to Bother You, Devotion), makeup department heads Deborah J. Young (Watchmen, Mare of Easttown) & Denise K. Tunnell (The Color Purple, Till) and hair department head Lawrence Davis (The Color Purple, Fly Me to the Moon)with casting by BAFTA Award® winner Susan Shopmaker (Sound of Metal, The Holdovers).
Academy Award® nominees Son Lux (Rafiq Bhatia, Ian Chang and Ryan Lott (Everything Everywhere All At Once, Thunderbolts)), are the film’s composers with an original song “Now I’m Listening” composed by the band and features vocals by Bilal.
The post-production team is led by film editor Cam McLauchlin (Nightmare Alley, Megalopolis) and the sound team features production mixer Erik H. Magnus (Coming 2 America, Creed III) and Emmy Award®-winning re-recording mixer and supervising sound editor Damian Volpe (Bessie, Nosferatu).
